Palm Beach Capos Reeling After Fourth Straight Loss, Eye Strong Finish Amid Injuries

The Palm Beach Capos have hit a rough patch, dropping their fourth straight game and falling to 3–5 on the season. Despite the losing streak and a roster battered by injuries, the Capos remain firmly in the playoff picture, currently holding on to what would be the #6 seed with two games left to play.

Injuries have taken a heavy toll on the team’s depth and performance. On defense, several key starters have been sidelined with season-ending injuries, leading to breakdowns in coverage and communication. Offensively, the Capos have been hit hard in the trenches and the backfield. The offensive line has been in flux due to injuries, and the running backs room has been significantly thinned, making it difficult to establish a consistent ground game.

Head Coach Brent Bargerstock remains focused on the opportunity ahead.

“It’s been a tough stretch, no doubt,” Bargerstock said. “But this team still has a chance to do something special. We’re not out of anything—we’re still in position. It’s all about how we finish.”

The Capos will look to get back on track at home on May 3 against the Tarpon Springs Pirates during their annual Salute to Service game. The home crowd and patriotic energy could provide the boost needed to snap the losing streak.

They’ll close the regular season on the road May 10 against the South Florida Wolverines, one of the league’s top teams. It’s a tough final stretch, but one that also presents an opportunity for the Capos to prove they belong in the postseason conversation.

“We control our own fate,” Bargerstock added. “That’s all you can ask for in this league.”

If the Capos can finish strong and secure wins in their final two games, they’ll not only break the skid but enter the playoffs with momentum—and perhaps with a few chips on their shoulders.
